Treadmill Deck Performance Optimization Design Based on Muscle Activity during Running

چکیده

In previous research on treadmills, the main focus has been comparing physiological differences induced by running treadmill decks and other exercise surfaces, with relatively little mechanical properties of decks. Reducing sports injuries is a common desire runners, which may be closely related to muscle activity. Obviously, play an important role in this process. Muscle activity was evaluated based mass-spring-damper (MSD) model that provides simulated signal ground reaction forces (GRF) vibration lower-limb soft tissues (LLST) during landing human body running. We improved original motion considering stiffness damping effect deck. addition, theory regulation, dimensionless objective function established, particle swarm optimization algorithm used find best range deck parameters under pre- post-fatigue conditions. The results show hardness can affect regulation Based this, specific safe area are obtained, size after fatigue significantly reduced compared before fatigue. By studying effects expected provide references for design reduce risk runners’ injuries, practical application value health.

EMG activity during positive-pressure treadmill running.

Success has been demonstrated in rehabilitation from certain injuries while using positive-pressure treadmills. However, certain injuries progress even with the lighter vertical loads. Our purpose was to investigate changes in muscle activation for various lower limb muscles while running on a positive-pressure treadmill at different amounts of body weight support. We hypothesized that some mus...

The effect of breast support on upper body muscle activity during 5 km treadmill running.

Breast support has previously been shown to influence surface EMG of the pectoralis major during running. Reductions in muscle activity have previously been associated with a reduction in energy cost, which may be advantageous for female runners. Ten female participants performed two self-paced (average pace 9 km h(-1)) 5 km treadmill runs under two breast support conditions (low and high); an ...

The effect of shoe insole stiffness on electromyography activity pattern of selected lower extremity muscles during running on treadmill

The purpose of this study was to determine the immediate effect of three types of shoe insoles, on electromyography activity of selected lower extremity muscles during running on treadmill. The electromyography activity of the rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, vastus medialis, biceps femoris, tibialis anterior and gastrocnemius lateralis muscles of 14 male athletes were recorded in non-insole,...

Speed-Dependent Modulation of Muscle Activity Based on Muscle Synergies during Treadmill Walking

The regulation of walking speed is easily achieved. However, the central nervous system (CNS) must coordinate numerous muscles in order to achieve a smooth and continuous control of walking speed. To control walking speed appropriately, the CNS may need to utilize a simplified system for the control of numerous muscles. Previous studies have revealed that the CNS may control walking via muscle ...

Leg kinematics and muscle activity during treadmill running in the cockroach , Blaberus discoidalis :

We have combined high-speed video motion analysis of leg movements with electromyogram (EMG) recordings from leg muscles in cockroaches running on a treadmill. The mesothoracic (T2) and metathoracic (T3) legs have di€erent kinematics. While in each leg the coxa-femur (CF) joint moves in unison with the femurtibia (FT) joint, the relative joint excursions di€er between T2 and T3 legs. In T3 legs...
